Built for the Long Term.
IMT was established in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, when medical supplies became the fastest tradable sector globally. A small team split between Hong Kong and South Africa saw an opportunity — and more importantly, a responsibility.
Drawing on decades of import and export expertise and established relationships with China-based manufacturing facilities, we moved quickly. Whilst the world struggled with supply chain chaos, we leveraged our Hong Kong team's 53 years of combined experience in product sourcing, quality management, finance, shipping, logistics, and compliance to deliver quality medical supplies when it mattered most.
When the pandemic waned, many suppliers exited the medical industry. We didn't. We saw the critical need for reliable, quality medical consumables and diagnostics in African healthcare — and we made a decision to build for the long term.
Today, we're seven years into a 50-year commitment.
